How We Rig the Gold Hollowbait (15cm/6inch)
The Gold Hollowbait – 15cm/6" is one of those plastics that can be rigged a few different ways.
Some anglers will go heavier on the hook.
Others prefer a slightly smaller setup depending on where they’re fishing.
But after plenty of time on the water, this is the setup we keep coming back to.
A 7/0 jig head.
Why the 7/0 Works
With the 15cm Hollowbait, the 7/0 sits in a really balanced position through the body.
It gives enough hook length to hold fish properly while still allowing the plastic to track straight and swim naturally.
Too small and the hook doesn’t sit in the strike zone.
Too big and the plastic can stiffen up or lose some of its movement.
The 7/0 lands right in that sweet spot.
What We Look For When Rigging
When rigging a Hollowbait, there are a few things we always check:
• The plastic sits straight on the hook
• The hook point lands in the upper third of the body
• The plastic can swim freely without twisting
If the lure tracks straight and the tail is working properly, you know it’s rigged right.
Simple Setup That Works
Fishing doesn’t always need to be complicated.
A 15cm Hollowbait paired with a 7/0 jig head is a simple, reliable setup that keeps producing fish.
And after plenty of testing on the water, it’s still the one we reach for.
